My family

Born and raised in California, all American. Three generations born here, the legacy must continue at any cost.

This blog is dedicated to my children and family.

My daughter Andrea, she passed away in 2000 leaving us too early at the age of 15. She loved life and her pets. She hoped one day to be a Doctor. She is missed dearly. My opportunity to see her grow was stolen from me but one day I will see her again at the gates of Valhalla awaiting my arrival to escort me among the hero's of old.

My daughter Sophia, Graduated from high school and obtained a brown belt as well. She works for the State of California and continues her College education hoping to achieve her B.A. She is a kind and determined woman who has goals and is willing to sacrifice to exceed.

My son Theo, he practices MMA fighting techniques and is ranked in Shorin Ji Ryu. He loves working out on his weights and the punching bag, training everyday to become a famous cage fighter. He has not forgotten his Kata's, they are embedded in his mind.

My Grandmother Eloise Garibay Soria, I miss her dearly. She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1920. My Grandma's family: ousted from Mexico they migrated to the United States to New Mexico and settled there before coming to Sacramento. With the death of the great Hapsburg leader Maximilian in 1867 it lead to a migration of French Nationals to leave or face execution.

My Grandfather Margarito Gaspar Soria born in 1896, He loved this great nation and worked hard for his citizenship. I knew him until his death at the age of 87. My grandfather's family with a proud Spanish history were landowners and ranchers. During the revolution of 1910 the family was stripped of title and land being considered a Conquistador. With the death of most of the male family members grandfather was forced to leave for the sake of his own life at the age of thirteen. Invited to work in the United States (Bracero's) he worked as a logger with Sugar Pine Logging Company then later during WWII he worked with the U.S Navy as riveter at the naval ship yards. Retired at the age 65 from Tiechert Construction he lived a good life seeing most of his grand kids grow and enjoyed his land, farming it always, until his death. He had many sons and grandchildren to pass on his great name.

My father Theodore A. born April 1940 in Sacramento, graduated from Norte Del Rio High school, no college education but put in 35 years with the County of Sacramento. He has done well and survived major heart surgery and continues to have fun no matter the setbacks. He is very proud of his grandchildren, loving them and spoiling them as a grandparent should do. He is now retired and enjoying the good life.

My mom Josie, born in Sacramento Aug 1944. Proud of her ancestry, a Native American, she has endured allot to rise above the prejudice. Her side of the family suffered during the oil wars of the southwest, Native Americans once again were forced to leave the region. Great Grandmother Beatrice a Yuma tribe native left to Fresno for work. She gave birth to my grandmother Angelina Alveraz who was born in Fresno, California 1926.

*My mother's father, my Grandfather Manor born in Flagstaff, Arizona in 1920 came to Sacramento to follow his dream of being a World Class fighter. He achieved a Golden Glove Boxer award in the 1940's. Later on, he owned his own trucking company until his early death of 59.

Brenda with Dutch heritage gave me Andrea C. Soria (October 1985 to December of 2000).
X-wife Celeste, true to the Irish legacy, gave me both Sophia and Theo.

Myself, I was born and raised in Sacramento. I am a proud Native American and Spaniard. I graduated from the toughest high school in Sacramento with the knowledge of welding and continued to learn through American River College gaining Certifications and Awards. Also at ARC I learned competitive Swimming, Fencing, and Archery. I then went to Cosumnes River College and earned my AA. I Scuba dive, I free dive and I do martial arts showing my children to get enjoyment from life as I do. Fulfilling but another dream I wrote a book that is now published and now I am working hard for the sequel to be finished soon. I am happy working on my little home and sitting in the backyard enjoying the trees and birds. I love the peace it brings because it is these small things that make life great.
